Yea the cube shifter is great. of the bestmods ive done and yea when i shift into 3rd it sometimes hits the ash tray bt i plan on heating it and bending it slightly beyond that its great. It is noisy and the first couple of days its hard to row though the gears bt now after 2months it gotten smoother and shifts awesome!

Nice! Odd, mine doesn't seem to contact the ashtray at all, I also already had the billym shift kit prior to so that might have taken up the slack you have; I heard they were a little tight from the get go, so I lubed up the seat a little bit more with moly grease and it's very smooth. Mine doesn't really make any noise, but I also modified the original shift housing seal to work with this shifter which I am sure gets rid of most of the sound.. It really does make the car feel much more solid though, I love it.

:wtf: VERDICT! Walker replacement downpipes are a pile of shit! Not even a year since I put this on to replace my rotted out old one and it decides to completely break itself, that as well as not fitting from the get go unless you hit it with a hammer; don't ever buy one of these! Now I have to find an oem one asap because I am not driving the car like this, instant noise violation from the popo down here in the bay area. Anyone have one they could sell or ship to me? Lol.

Looong over due update. As some of you may know, I got rear-ended by some moron in a school zone a couple months back. Didn't get jack shit, and my buddy which does insurance estimates said it's not worth having my insurance do anything as they would write it off and give me 900 bucks max, so I'll be fixing it out of pocket since the asshat who hit me didn't have insurance and was out on bail with no licence, tried to hustle me and I got pissed off and called the cops on him. He's back in jail now last time I checked. The frame is slightly tweaked in the passenger side rear, from the lower hatch to the top of the wheel arch, passenger side of the rear bumper cover is now 3/4 of and inch closer than it's supposed to be to the body now, gap on the right side of the hatch, and buckled my quarter panel in and out. Luckily my alignment is still the same and straight, just cosmetic damage that needs to be pulled in order to straighten it back out and possibly a new rear bumper support and rear quarter put in if I can't get the existing one flat.

Aside from that bullshit, I feel I have been neglecting the car too long, decided to get my ass in gear and start fixing things I should have a long time ago, as well as general maintenance.

Passed smog with flying colors after putting in a new cat.

Got new tires installed (same as old, Dunlop DZ102s, lasted me 3 years with a lot of aggressive driving)

And finally, I decided I will get my air conditioning to work again, got tired of driving in 106 degree weather in summer with the windows down after 8 years, and only did so after realizing Denso still made the parts and Rockauto had them in stock, pretty damn good price, minus the non-a/c stuff I ordered.

List of shit to fix next:
-Replace exhaust manifold downpipe, it broke again. (Buddy hooked me up with a new "old" one)
-Change timing chain (just hit 100k on my rebuilt motor that has shitty plastic guides)
-Fix the fat dent in my oil pan
-Replace rear mean seal
-Replace clutch (its not bad, just might as well when I pull the motor out to do everything else)
-Replace the valve stem seals
-Get the body fixed

Haha, the wheel base is luckily still the same and suspension unharmed, I would have been beyond pissed otherwise though!

Little bit of progress today, got my new downpipe installed, all new gaskets etc... Also picked up an Accel Super Stock breakerless electronic ignition coil, ohms out at similar specs as the stock coil and a lot cheaper that's for sure. Old one must have been tired, picked up a bit of midrange to high end. Going to test it out for a while then open the gap on the plugs a bit to see how the car likes it.

Nice oem goodness on the top, shit walker replacement that's been rewelded on the bottom, the oem one fits waaaay better (durr) lol.

Those welds from the ghetto muffler shop lol.

New coil

Glad you got the exhaust sorted out! Is there any particular reason to go with an Accel coil vs an MSD Blaster coil?

Most of the MSD coils I have seen don't ohm out anywhere near what the OEM spec calls for, the Accel coil was pretty damn close though, enough that I wanted to give it a go and it also helps it doesn't cost $80 like the OEM Denso one haha. The MSD blaster coil has one p/n that will work for pre-TCCS vac advance cars, but none for TCCS cars. I have seen people nuke their igniters running random coils, as well as not even starting due to not having a low enough primary resistance to spark which TCCS cars seem to like.

The BL has air conditioning again after almost a decade! New compressor, new seals, new drier, and ester oil change for R134a conversion. Vacuum drawed the system for about an hour then filled about 22-24oz of straight R134a.  Blows low 40's at a standstill in 90+ weather, woo!

Neglected the car too much the past couple months, I finally gave the car a long needed wash. Much better!

Oh yeah, I did a thing.

Cusco x Bride FIA approved Vios III bucket seat! It cost a pretty penny, but it was well worth it, this thing wreaks quality and comfort (my ass definitely agrees). You get what you pay for. I installed it with Techno Toy Tuning's fixed seat bracket kit https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ma60/racing-seat-rails-ma60-supra. It needed some massaging to get the rails to bolt to the car which I will go over in a new thread and what to do to fix it as well as tips on installation since there are no instructions or write ups about it. Once it's in though, it is very damn solid.

Peek the JGTC inspired shift knob, no more hot shifter in the summer!

Tons of adjustment in these things, basically can suit anyone's seating position. And they sit just as low as the factory seat or even lower

Looks nice in there xD

Seat looks great in there

Hopefully after college I can do something similar, so a small writeup would be great, maybe if you made a separate post it could be put in the write up section
