So since I felt like experimenting, I saw that Cube Speed has a shifter for the SC300/Soarer that has a z bend arm and that gave me an idea. I messaged Richard and he gladly sold me the z bend arm by itself (man AUS posts fast btw, took 5 days). Being that you have to reach a bit using the current single bend arm they sell with the short shift kit for the Celica, figured I might as well try the z bend, should put it closer right? Well that's exactly what happened and from this point on I recommend if you do buy this short shifter, get the one for the non-tripod SC300.

It literally moves the shift position 2-3 inches back, comfortably placing it next to you and closer to the steering wheel. It feels great now.

Single bend

Dual/z bend

Minor update, just some small additions. Put on a lip spoiler, actually came out a lot nicer than I thought it would!

Also replaced my fog lights, as one broke and the other fell off a long time ago, much much better.

Looking clean. Yea I like how that rear lip spoiler came out.

BTW you can use something like back to black on your front air dam. Works pretty well for while.

I am still alive. Car sat for about 2 years because I thought I had to drop the transmission and just haven't had the time or motivation to work on it. Oh woe is me, found out the issue, what I thought was the throw-out bearing making an insane racket, turned out to be a starter that was randomly engaging. :violin: I am moving so I had to get off my ass now to get the car running again and needed to change out the battery and alternator as well, so I started out with that. Started up the car after I knocked that out, and was just checking voltage on the multimeter when I hear that fucking God awful sound again, but I got a good listen from the get go this time and heard that starter wind up (this originally happened while I was driving and not while the car was sitting, so I never thought it would have been the starter) and that's when I put 2 and 2 together and facepalmed. Went under the car and found a little shit wire that was a loose plug for the automatic trans circuit that was not in use, had worn through and apparently had 12v running to it, arcing off the damn body of the starter body causing, one: my odd intermittent short I could never find, and two: causing the starter to engage. Two birds, one stone, so I am pretty happy to say the least. Put some MT90 in the gear box and fresh Motul 90PA into the diff, took the car for a spin and wow, how I have missed driving this car.

That said, I am knocking out my brake issues and figured I would overhaul the whole shebang, new wheel bearings, rotors, EBC pads, master cylinder, drums, shoes, calipers, wheel cylinders, everything new. I knocked out the front end so far and found the old master was leaking, probably the main issue I have had taken care of, cool. Started the drums last night and found they don't want to come off. Probably worn drums and the shoes catching on a ridge. Was too dark out by the time I got to it and was too frustrated trying to get the star adjuster to spin the other way, so going to start fresh today and give it a go again and maybe pick up a brake spoon to make it easier. Will post pics later. Hope everyone has been well!

Good seeing you the other night to catch up dude! It was so cool to see your RA64 as it was the inspiration for the suspension, wheels and stance of my car. :) Gonna miss you when you move.

Little bit of a late post, but smol update. Got my cars packed and the Celica in decent running state. Scamp needs a bit of work, shitty nylon toothed OE timing gear took a shit, but I have a lot of new goodies for the car that'll come in the future. Moved everything up to my parent's property up north, packed most of my necessary belongings with me, and I am now in Texas!

Some pics of the Celica and Scamp.

She is in dire need of a cut and buff! Brakes and bearings all done.

Master topped off with some Motul RBF660

Gave her a wash

More garage space for my buddy once I got this whale out

Scamp all loaded up

Bye bye Cali! Will miss my friends, but I sure as shit won't miss this God forsaken state along with its ridiculous taxes and asinine car and gun laws. Once I get the celi shipped over, I can damn well do whatever I please to her.

The old nylon tooth timing gear strikes again. Can you believe they did that to make it quieter?

Gonna miss you dude but excited for all the new opportunities that lay ahead! The new place looks cozy, but I think you need a bigger garage. :)
