Extended email notification failure
« on: Jul 15, 2016, 06:40:37 am »
The email provider for this site changed their security requirements on April 1st (no joke). This change meant that the forum software could not send any emails from then until now (July 14th 2016).

I have managed to get the email system working again.

Unfortunately this means that no new users were able to confirm their account during this period. Since there was a sizable backlog I have wiped all pending accounts. If you tried to register in the past few months but were not able to because of this problem then please try again now.

I apologize for the trouble!

Uh oh, that means more spammers in droves.  :(

And here I thought it was the April Fool's joke that caused it. Right day, wrong cause.  :heh:

Steven, thanks for the update. I've received a few texts (literally to my phone, and to FB messenger) from members that made changes but were unable to log back on, and those who have addressed comments on the FB page, as apparently I'm an "admin" there, and have passed issues on to Teranfirbt, since he's the only active moderator here, and hopefully between the two of us, we've taken care of most of the issues.
If there's anything more I can assist with, please let me know. I am continually trying to promote this page on various FB pages, as there is a wealth of knowledge available here. Unfortunately, with today's "instant gratification" generation, people don't want to look (aka "search") for answers - they expect people to instantly give them answers to their questions/issues.

What's the specific URL to "the FB page"? I've shared the forums URL to this FB page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/8285Celica/ in hopes that it might draw more people over to this site, but there seems to be multiple pages associated with Celica's on FB.
