Hello, i have a 1985 celica gts And is attempting to swap a 1uzfe in to it my 22re has blown has 360,000 miles on it no rebuild and it makes me sad watching it sit.
Here is all the parts i have bought for it already.
-3sgte ACT clutch (from ebay but through TJs performance)
-Xcessive motor mounts (http://xcessivemanufacturing.com/index.php/toyota/celica/chassis-and-suspension/toyota-t-ra6x-1uz-mmb.html)
-Transmission adapter kit (http://www.1uzfeswapkit.com/product.sc?productId=23&categoryId=1)
Total for all that about 1,500

Today (7/15/16) im will buying a 1992 LEXUS Ls400 it has a bad transmission no mufflers but i dont need that lol

I hope that's not all you have...gonna need some more components, and you'll be out a lot more than just the trans adaptation components. You need an upgraded s13 radiator. You'll need fab'd exhaust manifolds (know a welder?) you'll need to wire your secondary o2's into your primary O2's for a signal to get rid of the CEL from that. You'll need about four relays in varying amp sizes, a fuse block, a serpentine belt from Dayco to bypass the A/C (you WERE going to do that right?) and then all the little miscellaneous things like wire shrink, crimp connectors, molex plugs, crimp tools, extra wire, etc.

Pm if you have any questions. Nigel wades "this is how you wire up a 1uzfe" PDF book is a godsend. But poorly written and needs a "kiwi to American" translator (I can assist.)

I sourced nearly all of my swap parts from xcessive, Rich has the know how. I'm using a 5sfe flywheel modded by XM, a stage 2 5sfe pressure plate, a stage 2 LCE 22re clutch disc, RAM slave cylinder. All in all my setup will hold the power, but ALSO have the drive ability that most of these swaps lack (because they go with a 3sgte 9 ounce flywheel and stage 9,999 clutch kit. Then people wonder why the car sucks to drive everyday.

It should be possible to keep AC, but you'll have to figure out lines, or else have a pro do it. You'll also need to decide if you want to stick with R12 (assuming that's what the Lexus compressor is) or convert to R134a.

You'll also have to figure out where to put the ac condenser and hope that it doesn't block the rad too much. These engines run hot in this chassis due to lack of space and airflow in the engine bay.

Good news is that the wiring is very simple. If you can read a wiring diagram, you can do this! I'll post links to the Nigel wade book and to the main schematic someone drew that makes things easy. Lextreme.com is your friend. The website is kind of a ghost town, but you can still search and find relevant threads. People will tell you that "you only need 7 wires to make it run". Bologna. It needs 7 wires to START UP, so for testing that makes things easy. But 70% of the wiring harness needs to be hooked up for the engine to run right the other 30% is all for the automatic transmission, ac, air suspension, AIC stepper motor, and various other dumb things that the ECU controls in the ls400.

Fortunately, 70% of the 70% is already hooked up to the engine. So you only have two handfuls of wires to connect to the Celica and reconnect at the ecu. Get a wire depinning took.  Links on the way

I think the 7.5 will hold. It's the 6.7 that can't do over 200ft lbs of torque. The pickup guys with 1uz's only have problems with the 8" axle because they run massive tires and low gears (lots of torque) and smash things against rocks like true hillbillies.

Today (7/23/16) ordered a New oil pan gasket bc mine is leaking and ordered a Cx racing 3 inlet row radiator for a s13 sr20 swap was going to go with mishimoto but 300 dollars vs 160 i rather take the chance of blowing it then spending almost double.

I probably have 300hp/tq going to my 7.5 diff. On street tires it should take anything you throw at it.

Actualy I gave my car a pretty hard beat running two drivers at a time attack racing event and had absolutly no issue with the temperature at all. You need a good pusher fan and a big oil cooler well ducked. I remove the front grill when I track for additionnal air flow and managed to cut the skid plate to suit the 1UZ oil pan. But even without the oil cooler on the street it is fine. I had issues with mine when I was stuck in traffic mainly due to the fact that my pusher fan blades were installed backward. I flipped it over and it is now perfect.
