Supra ghettocet starter kit. 250$.
« on: Sep 23, 2016, 08:16:25 pm »
Sorry I'm on this kick. This thing is already stripped down, and since it's a targa top it will already have the structure welds for the body increased. Need running gear, giant 80's floppy rally suspension, and a sawzall. Oh and balloony tires.

Ooooo. They're suppose to have a very rock solid chassis. The Fiero has some interesting aftermarket support because of the use in kit cars. Like the frame extension, kind of interesting. There's also a Baja kit for the fiero as well. Was called the Jalepeno, not sure if you can still find the kit, but yea... I used to really want an 88.

Don't use the fiero. The last year of production was the only year to actually get update sports suspension redesign. Every year prior used cheap, crappy GM parts bin stuff from the chevette. Shitty brakes, awful geometry, bad chassis. Terrible engine. Not to mention an inherent problem with the fuel line leaking and causing a fire.

The mr2 is prince of the auto cross(Miata is king). No reason it wouldn't do well for the dirt. It's well documented, bulletproof, looks good, plentiful. And engine swaps don't cost thousands.

Side note: can't believe I forgot the link... I'm losing it.

Corax would probably make his own suspension, I doubt any stock suspension from any year would be ideal for off road use. I think in the past the Fiero was faster than the AW11 in every category except braking. Either way I bet you could swap all kinds of things onto the Fiero like C4 brakes and stuff, I remember guys doing so many mods to the Fiero it's crazy. When Shelby drove a LT1 swapped Fiero he said he loved it.
