I made a TEQ frame and sandwiched it between some stabilized burl and spalted maple.
I first designed the metal piece.

Had it 3D printed with the bands going vertical so that I could have a texture in the background of the TEQ.

Made a template for cutting out the wood.

Did some quick cuts

Started marking for trimming out the top to fit the TEQ snug.

I wanted to darken it a bit more so added a stain.
