New here.. am I at the right place?
« on: Apr 20, 2017, 12:27:16 am »
Greetings everyone,
So I drive a 1980 Toyota Corona Liftback LE, pretty much a celica right? It's my third car and second Corona I've owned since obtaining my license about 2yrs ago. has 71k now. Before I make a billion word post about all my issues I figured I should introduce my car and I. I like talking about me and my cars so ask any question you'd like.

My first car was a 1981 Corona Wagon (bleu) which I traded for a 88 Mitsu Starion that I didn't feel like fixing/keeping so I sold and bought this creamy Corona from out in the desert. Basically only paid for the one first car (950$) since I made alotta profit off the starion. The owner of this Corona said he didn't know how to further fix the carb and the brakes would grind but that out of everyone he'd shown the car too I was the only one who seemed genuinely informative about it. For something with SOOOOOOO many issues it starts up everyday.  I can't get enough of these Toyotas!!

For sure you're on the right forums =D And welcome!

Man where do you find these. Really like the Coronas in general, not sure why they aren't more popular in the US. I remember Toyota not sending many over.

Thank you I feel really welcomed! Umm craigslist I mean I have no other idea where to find oldschool cars other than stalking people neighborhoods and backyards lol.
Yea people think its fwd or something or a datsun. I guess they all went to junkyards and people forgot they existed.

Yea, I think I should put coronas on my junk yard app. They're so interesting, I keep finding about new models of Coronas that I didn't even know exist.

Like this Corona MKII Coupe

That's sweet! There is a guy near me that owns what is either that mk2 coupe or a crown coupe because it looks odd and is left side steering. Weird I see rwd corollas cressidas celi/sups but never coronas at the yard.

Yea, they're rare in the US. Apparently they did ship those to the US. I doubt you'd mistake it for a Crown coupe though, they have a very odd/distinct look.

I mean it's coo, but compared to the Corona MKII Coupe it's ugly.

Btw, if you might want to check out my app. It's called classic junk and just add the car model & date range to set an alert and just wait for it to notify you.
