Hello all, if you search the user/member Nashville Tony, you will see his for sale section. I ended up Driving from Raleigh to Just outside Nashville to tow back.

But Need opinions - Changed to New Cap, Rotor, Plugs & Wires, Coil checks out but No Spark. Here are photos -

I'm also going to check the fuel line with the Fuel check connector set and not set.

But from the image above - that ignitor looks toast.

With the MS3 or HEI conversion if it's Dead.

Ignitor was dead, nada, nothing!

Just waiting on a few parts and will wire in a HEI Ignitor to get her started, see what the engine condition is and then...

Working with this dude to get a 22re dizzy adapter for the AEM CAS puck, and we go full sequential fuel and spark on megasquirt.

Oh and EGR - Gone! Block off plates installed.

Started the rust converter stuff, its awesome! All black now and ready for paint.

Oh nice, the nylon should hold up pretty decently. Too bad he doesn't offer a metal version.

Just a quick update -

Fuel is ALSO a problem, I have no fuel pressure.
I also started to realize that every wire i cut was whitish / greenish like time has taken its toll.

So plan is now this -
Run 12v Mod to see if Fuel Pump even works -
Use my MS3 (v3 Megasquirt) to control the rest -
HEI Ignitor Module with Matched Coil
Injectors run in batch until i get that AEM CAS puck with adapter
Switching to MAP based and ditching the AFM
Will upload my wiring and stuff here and will also start a 22re megasquirt build thread.

So any advice ditching VTV, EGR all gone already, or any thing else I can remove to clean things up?

Get rid of the AFM and install a MAP sensor. If you're thinking about installing the MAP sensor where the EGR came out of, don't do it, that has it's own passage running up to the throttle body, and it may not react to pressure changes as quickly, especially if it's plugged up. You can also get rid of the cold start injector, MS3 should be able to fire the normal injectors extra during warm up, especially if you upgrade them.

Will do ozzie - not using EGR as it's blocked off with plates.

I'm looking at one of the emission vac lines from the manifold, I'm trying to remove as much as i can that is old mechanical stuff. Like power steering has a vac switching valve and a total of 5 hoses ! With the modern tech of these days, all of that can be done better and more efficient.

Update - stripped out  the wiring harness - point of no return lol

As it's also a mess with grime and old oil so I also decided to clean it all. Also looking to drop the IAC valve along with the extra cooling lines to the throttle. Going to end up using a VW or Volvo iac air only valve. 2 pins and megasquirt can control it.

Once clean and the intake is back on, the MS wireing harness is done and ready to be run through the fire wall and start connecting.

I also modded the MS3 board to handle Direct Coil control via pin 36 with BIP373 driver mod.

More to come as I get things connected and running. OH and new 2.5 open air intake !

Hello again!

Updates are here! And I have a few questions -

1. New wiring harness for the motor, like 14 wires total MS3 only running Batch fire,  I removed the one connection that the water temp gauge was in as there were a few non ecu wires that I hope keep working, like the water gauge.

2. Power Steering T diaphragm gone, air idle valve Gone = Much less clutter. Plan is to run a ford IACV with two hose adapter plate and mount in the fire wall.

3. CSI gone, Thanks Yota 1, http://209yota1.com/

4. Running Speed density MAP based so BYE BYE AFM (who wants it?) So nice new intake with IAT sensor.

5. Running 12v to the Fuel Pump,  MS will control the ground but 12v is a new feed from fused battery feed.

6. 2 new relays and 10 slot fuse holder, makes life easier

Questions

1. The gray wire from the old ignitor, can i hook that up to the coil negative so my RPM gauge works?

2. What is a good TDC starting point, just follow the book or -10 BTDC

She tries to start tomorrow. or tonight.
