New Member Checking In

Hello all,

New member here.  I'm a japanese car fanatic from way back that has been suffering through having a modern BMW for a daily driver for the past 10 months.  I LOVE it, but I'm tired of the usual "BMW issues" rearing their head.  So, it will be replaced with something Japanese.

I've always been a Toyota fan, having owned a 5th Gen Celica, and having friend's with MK2, MK3, and MK4 Supras, sw20 MR2's, etc.  Here are some highlights of my automotive history:

1980 Datsun 280zx (first car)
Several z31 300zx car
Several S13 chassis 240sx
prior-mentioned 5th Gen Celica gt liftback
Lancer Evolution X
Mazdaspeed 3
Several na-chassis Miatas
Volvo 242 (current project car.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the classic Celicas!  I see a RA64 or RA65 is my not-too-distant future!

Regards,

-Ben

Hey Ben, welcome to the forum! You've got quite the automotive history, I'm just barely starting my story with my '91 Miata and 84' Celica GT, haha. These cars are great fun and the simplicity of the powertrain and chassis makes them a breeze to work on over anything more modern. As an employee of a very large automotive company, I know how these electronic-nanny-aid-ridden econo boxes of the modern day can get frustrating with so many little sub-systems breaking down or malfunctioning. I bet the newer Bimmers aren't any better these days - my mother has an 2010 E93 335i and that thing has 12+ computers, and they break often! Insane!

Anyway, hope you get to learn a lot in our fun little world of classic Celicas!

Welcome.  I have 3 at the moment.  All 1985 GT-S, 5 spd liftbacks.  I don't believe in newer cars as my 32 year old Celica has outlasted most of my family  members newer cars besides, I haven't had a car payment in over 17 years, no need.
