I met a guy back when I was racing who stripped the wipers off his truck and rainx'd the crap out of the windshield. He also raced a Golf with a John Deere livery and massive 13" tires that rolled over every corner.

Isn't there a non-cruise control stalk available?

I think you're right, it seems the zenki Celicas/Supras had a wiper-only stalk.

Well, here's the beginning of the cruise control button modification. :) I'll probably have to get a relay shield too.

Edit: Will be getting this piece: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4O719N?psc=1

I'm a newb when it comes to the terms since I only build the cases for them :heh: But I think he's holding the controller components and when he means by shield is that there will be another board that will sit on top of that. I imagine they're like an arduino.

The blue board is an Arduino, I think it's the Pro Mini? I've got a few Arduino Nano clones here. The red board is an FTDI USB to Serial converter, or at least a clone of one, it's used to program the Arduino. And the board he linked to uses relays and optocouples to allow a microcontroller, running at 3.3v or 5v, to safely switch loads of up to 10A at either 30VDC or 250VAC, so they're useful either in the car or around the house ;)

swan song, it's (one of) the answer(s) to all of our microcontroller problems!

Sigma, after looking at the relay boards and shields, the one I bought isn't really a shield but just a board. Because cheaper and you're not constrained to the Arduino Uno :)

Hehehe, ozzie is right! They're sparkfun components, a 5V Arduino Pro Mini with an FTDI Serial to USB converter. Yup, the relays are pretty heavy duty for this application.
