Hmmm, quick calculation: distance, mpg, price of gas, time, age of car, age of driver...

BACC #3 is just -barely- more practical.  I should be there.  ;)

The meet was so much fun today, even with only an attendance of 4. Some 2nd gen representation, too! :)

Hell, even when I went to a meet in the PDX 10 years ago... it was so weird to see 15 Celicas together. It's even rarer now to see them.

In two years I've literally had five people come up to me and ask if my cars were for sale. There used to be two other Celicas running around town here, I haven't seen either in about 18 months now. I know one guy restored his (like I did with mine in 2008.)
SELECT celica FROM toyota WHERE year<=1985;

1985 GT-S
-Rebuilt engine: bored .020 over, oversize valves, new cam
-Thorley header w/heated O2 sensor at collector & all new exhaust
-Impact6 strut bar
-3.9LSD rearend, which is now slipping
-Lots of bodywork and new paint!
-New cd player to cover up all those squeaks and rattles
-JK short-throw shifter

It was pretty magical for me to see more Celicas that were taken care of. There are two in my small town of Alameda but one is a terribly rusty white GT LB that’s been neglected and barely used. The other is identical to mine, except a 1985 in fresh out the factory condition that is very rare to see and driven by a tiny old lady who keeps it locked up except for perfect days.
