Newbie from Texas/Virginia
« on: Jul 09, 2018, 11:37:53 pm »
How's it going everybody, I've been reading this forum for years but just now decided to sign up and do an intro post. I have a 84 Celica GT I bought in highschool before I left for the Navy, I bought it for $600 from some stoners who wanted to make it a drift project so it is fully stripped, on cut springs, beat to S***, with an ugly faded black rattle can paintjob but it only has 113k and runs like a champ :heh: When I bought it I intended on doing a full restore and just making it look somewhat decent with a complete interior, but now I think im gonna change my direction and just have it as a fun little drift project while I daily my mazdaspeed 6. I'm currently deployed and stationed in Norfolk VA and my cars back home with the rents in Texas so planning on getting her up to Virginia sometime soon so I can start a build! Haven't done much to her yet since I haven't been home much the past 3 years but much is in store for her! Can't post pics due to the fact im in the middle of the ocean with very slow internet lol but looking forward to what will come of my celica in the near future

Welcome dude. And enjoy the forum. We are kind folks here. I fully condone the missle project! Weld the diff and go have fun. Since your military, maybe to accent that flat black retard paint, you could add the shark mouth to the sides. Much like an old WWII dog fighter.

Hello and welcome! Sounds like a good plan, Celicas are very capable cars and respond well to mods. If you have the budget and/or, definitely look into some decent suspension or building your own! :)
Celica the '84 Two-tone RA64 - Phase 2 In Progress! (159k); 1UZ-FE V8 Swap, W58 5-speed swap, Koni x Swift x T3 suspension, 6G Celica seat belts, TRD 2-way LSD, Corolla tape deck
Mia the '91 Miata - Revived Twice! (264k); BP-5A 1.8L swap, an NB in NA clothes
Lude the '95 Prelude SR/b] - The VTEC Daily (238k)
Lilith the '94 Legend GS - Blown HG (152k)

@twotone Yea I was reading your write up on your suspension set up and definitely looks like a plan for me in the future definitely wanna go lower on a more practical set up then the stupid cut springs its on. One of the best and easiest write ups I've ever read, actual good quality pictures so I can see what's going on

@swan song I saw your write up on the 1uz swap and the explorer axle, crazy build man it has me so anxious to get my car back and finally start working on it.
