Hello! Any love for a RA65 here? It is special...
« on: Sep 11, 2018, 04:49:12 pm »
Picked this celica up on july 1 2016 to build as a 24hr of lemons car,and has been on going ever since. It had its first race on Dec 1st 2017 in sonoma. So took a little over year to get running. It took a beating its first race with being T-boned, Motor mount bolts breaking, and then the nail in the coffin..melted the pinion gear. So almost a year later it is back in action and ready for Buttonwillow. So figured I would share the car with people and this seems like a good forum to! Will post a thread with lots of pictures throughout the build sometime soon but here is a few teasers....

Hello and welcome to the forums!! Awesome Celica, I love the space shuttle theme you've got going with it. Do I spy a 1UZ motor in there? ;) Are you in the middle of the swap or is it complete? Where in CA are you located?

That's one badass lil racecar, way to keep it alive!
I take it there's a bigger axle going back there?
Looking forward to pictures.

Thanks! Our original theme is the tundra towing the space shuttle kinda thing. This years theme is that we made it to mars and have captured some aliens and we are enslaving them to pull the car around. Maybe ;-), and It is complete! San diego area.

Nope. Stock w58 trans and stock rear end. Might possibly have a Kaaz LSD in there after the stock pinion melted but IDK for sure since that would be cheating. ;-)

What is the stance formula here?  Tires, Wheels, suspension set-up?  I really like how this one is sitting.
