Email notifications dead again?

Anyone else notice email notifications are dead again?

No emails for at least a couple weeks now methinks. I came yesterday thinking it's odd there haven't been any posts and there were quite a few.

Now, of course, I'll have to remember to check this thread periodically.

I noticed the same thing at least a month back. Email notifs been dead for a while at least. I wonder if that's why things got so quiet on here recently...

Yep. This should now be fixed.

The email account got a security lock for spam concern.

Ironically, it looks like this happened because the forum was subjected an unusual spike in spammer load about a month ago. If you look at the bottom of the forum index you'll see that "Most Online Ever" got bumped for the first time in like 6 years, and that was probably from spammers. I just purged a spam account queue of more than 12,000 attempted registrations.

Luckily the spam blocking has mostly been working so it didn't really affect anything. But sending thousands of "Your account is registered, but needs admin approval" emails in such a short time seems to have triggered an anti-spam check from the email provider.

Holy crap! I got a notification again!

Wow, I can't believe spammers are still trying to get on forums. Most forums I'm on have seen a considerable decrease in users in general, can't believe they'd be bothered still.

I have not received email notifications since 12/21/2018. Steven, was there another influx of spam accounts?

Huh, certain threads were unresponsive via email notifs, but after I posted to this it started working again. Funny.
