I'd love to try Buttonwillow! Never been but heard it's a fantastic track.

I'll post once I know the dates of our next track excursion to see who's down!

Buttonwillow is a fun and fast track. In my sig pic, that's where I'm racing the Miata!

Dooo let me know when you're going out next, I'd love to tag along!

You know they say, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow! I feel it's 90% the driver especially when you're starting out. There were cars that had gobs more power than the Celica that would pass me in the straights but I would be on their ass by the next 2 corners. With a more capable driver they would have dusted me around the whole track!

Oh yea for sure. I'm a pretty crappy driver so I didn't care what I brought, I just wanted to learn. But the skill gap was pretty big when I had my buddy drive my 60hp Insight :heh:

Buttonwillow is pretty dang fun, but I still really like the tiny track called Horse Thief at Willow Springs. Seems like no one knows about the track.

Will do! I think it may be Laguna Seca next?  :spiteful:

Ooo yeah never heard of it, but after looking it up seems like a nice little circuit! Do you know which organization runs events there?

Oooh I've only driven parade laps around MRLS during the Miata festivals. :heh:

The last time I went was with a private group, but I'm sure SpeedSF, OnGrid and HDPE make it out there!

Not off hand, my friend that introduced me to the event passed away a while back so I kind of fell out of the group since he was the one I was mostly friends with.

Gotcha. Unfortunately it's a 6 hour drive from me, so probably unlikely I'll be able to make it ou there anytime soon. But hopefully someday!

I've only run with NASA and SpeedSF up until now, but yes it would be great to get 2 or more Celicas out there!!

yea, that's pretty far, lol. Willow Springs is a little over two hours for me. I just don't keep up with the events like I should. Hard to find time to tinker and drive. One of my buddies wants to do a track car with me so I may wrench and he can drive.

Sorry for the 10 month late reply hahah  :disgust:

I actually have never been to Willow Springs, only Sonoma and Thunderhill. I'm going back to Thunderhill January 16th/17th for a double drift day if anyone wants to join (different car). Will post an update here in a bit about the sad ending of my Celica  :crying:
