Project 85
« on: Feb 12, 2019, 07:51:08 pm »
I picked up 85 gt around October of last year. $500 running and complete interior. I’ve always wanted a hatchback and at one time I had an ae86 but needed way too much work. I feel lucky to have come across this one. I have some plans for it, suspension and a 5 speed swap, but first thing I need is passenger side 4 link mount, one by rocker. Floor and mount rusted out right at the mount. Rest of car is decent but it’s not going anywhere till I address this. Does anyone have a parts car that would be willing to cut out a chunk of floor for me?

Hello and welcome! Sounds like you've got quite the project ahead of you. There's an 82 GT car in a junkyard near me, but I don't have the means in which to cut pieces of floor out. And it's a coupe. :heh:

Is the floor different in a coupe and hatch?

It might be, hopefully someone else can chime in to confirm.

I'd hop on ToyoDIY.com, sign up for an account, find the PNs for the parts of the floor pan you need, and then compare with a coupe of the same year. I believe the floor forward of the trunk/back seat is the same, but behind that is different, but I can't say for sure.
