BACC Backyard Bash Cruise #2
« on: Feb 19, 2019, 07:06:11 pm »
Sorry for the late notice! Here we are again folks, the second installment of your favorite mountain cruise! Same route as last time; I would have loved to change it up, but parts of Skyline and Old La Honda road were damaged in the recent rain. Get this - our drive will be filmed for a documentary on Silicon Valley!

Date: Sunday, February 24th, 2019

Meeting point: 4200 Farm Hill Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94061, Lot #6 @ 7:00am (or earlier!)

All 1971-1985 Celicas are welcome. We will be meeting at Canada College Lot #6 at 7:00am and head out shortly after. There will be a pitstop at Downtown Local coffee shop in Pescadero, and then we will continue until getting back to Hwy 280 in Woodside. This cruise won't be too long as to not take up your entire day. :) Please RSVP in the replies! Hope to see you there.

PLEASE NOTE: This route includes tight corners and steep inclines/declines. MAKE SURE your vehicle's maintenance is up to date, especially the tires, cooling system and brakes. Your ride is your responsibility.

Route: Canada Road, Hwy 92, Skyline Blvd, Woodside Rd, Pescadero Creek Rd, Hwy 1, Tunitas Creek Rd, Kings Mountain Rd.

Celica the '84 Two-tone RA64 - Phase 2 In Progress! (159k); 1UZ-FE V8 Swap, W58 5-speed swap, Koni x Swift x T3 suspension, 6G Celica seat belts, TRD 2-way LSD, Corolla tape deck
Mia the '91 Miata - Revived Twice! (264k); BP-5A 1.8L swap, an NB in NA clothes

What a morning that was!! The same route as last time was still super fun, and everyone enjoyed it. I had two members drive up from Fresno and Stockton to enjoy the shenanigans. During the drive, I had one member run out of gas going up the mountain - thankfully, we were still able to finish the drive and rescue her car! Good times. The next drive will be a Backyard Blast, a much more exhilarating, late night touge run. Stay tuned!! :)

That forest looks really cool! Are those coastal redwoods or giant sequoias? I'm actually trying to grow giant sequoias in the back yard, not too many have died yet... someday...
Flares on that supra are preposterous!

Mostly coastal redwoods and a whole lot of different oak trees. The big boy redwoods are all up north. :)
Hahah, Devon's boso style Supra was so cool. Loud, boisterous style and a raspy exhaust! Despite his very low setup, he could still boogie on the mountain.
