Considering the cost of R&D and low volume manufacturing, $750 is not unreasonable. There's a company that makes a Honda K series to W5x bellhousing for $1500.

Agreed $750 for a low volume cast piece is nice. Also looks well made.

Yeah, Josh wanted the price to be extremely fair considering the R&D and tooling costs of producing a low volume piece like that.

plus the annoyance of casting something as large as a bell housing.

Didn’t take smog or bar into consideration when thinking of the build  I am tempted for the swap now that there’s bellhousings and transmission options

I've always thought Lencos look super badass. But the even the ST1200 is like $6000! In my Skylark I was actually planning to run a Killduff  lightning rods shifter, basically gives you the feel and operation of the Lenco at way less cost. Originally based on the factory option that came in the 80s Hurst/Olds Cutlass!  :spiteful:

Don't remember if your build was with an auto for drag racing but you could probably adapt one of those shifters to your transmission of choice.

I was gonna swap in a A340, I don’t want the W58 for long

I see! I'm sure if your W58 works well you could sell it easily to make the swap cheaper (where are you located again? Because I could use a better one :heh:) You could always use an adapter and then run a TH400 if you're planning on making lots of power:

https://www.lceperformance.com/Transmission-Adapter-Plate-Kit-20R-22R-RE-To-Chevy-p/1033035.htm

I'm not sure how much power the A340 is rated for.

A340 is rated at 400 hp (same as W58) but I wanted to build it and add  a trans brake and I am located in Souther California, specifically San Fernando Valley. Everything for this transmission works, I bought it from a local tranny dealer so it only has 1XX,XXX miles (he said it was a supra owned by an older lady) . Haven’t even driven it cause I bought the wrong pilot bearing for the 22RE :disgust: (found out after I pulled it) and the 7M still ain’t done. If you want it let me know cause I still have the 22RE bell housing and I still haven’t started putting it through hell

A quick google search turned up a few results saying nobody makes an A340 trans brake.

I’ll make my own, I can figure something out. Won’t let that little thing stop me from trying, that’s what separates builds from owning a car. You gotta be a builder sometimes instead of a consumer especially in drag. Transbrake can be made to work I am sure of it. No one even lists a reason why it doesn’t work. Just say no one makes it and that’s it. I knew that from the start just need to talk to few transmission shops and a set up can be made (not cheaply but price of sticking to Toyota). W58 should hold for now
