Rusty Coupe! Lots of fuun
« on: Oct 04, 2019, 06:02:31 am »
Hello everyone! I was just wondering where the common rust spots on coupes were. My coupe isn't the worst I've ever seen but its pretty bad. Rocker Panels are see through and the pinch welds are pretty crunchy. just wondering where else I should look! My engine bay and front suspension is pretty okay, when I did brakes the gap between the strut and the lower control arm was real bad and one of my front shock cartridges was pretty bad.

I've only got a couple spots around my Antenna. However I have seen dudes have issues with rear control arms.

Rear inner wheel wells, and the rear part of the rocker panel where it meets the rear quarter panel. At least on my cars (northeast). Oh, and on my race car, one of the lower rear control arm mounts decided to detach itself from the chassis, but it was pretty effing rusty everywhere.

That is pretty much what I've got. especially the rocker panels. Earlier today I noticed that even the bottom of the door has a small bit of rust. Ive also noticed some bits of the front bumper supports are rusty too.

Just be glad you don't have a hatch. All 3 hatches I've owned have had rust around the window and the bottom edge.
