I am not able to go and with the fire and nasty smoke I'm not sure if they will still be getting together. Bob said he is doing a job so can't go now.

Yeah, that part of Oregon is not really the place to be in now  :heh:

yep.  I'm in Clackamas County, but luckily I don't think the fire will get anywhere near me (still level 1 evacuation where I'm at).  Thursday I rigged up a box fan with double FPR10 HVAC filters to try to filter out some of the smoke inside my house - seems to be working well, an actual air purifier is impossible to find on a store shelf within 200 miles.  At one point yesterday, I saw an Air Quality Index station in Portland reporting near 400, which is considered "hazardous" to the point where a respirator is recommended if you go outside.  Portland is also currently ranked #1 in the world for worst air quality in a major city  https://www.iqair.com/us/world-air-quality-ranking

a good real time satellite view of the smoke and how far it reaches, which also lets you scroll back through time to see how it's progressed, can be found here:

Good lord, that's incredible... My childhood home is out in the Estacada area. I don't think the fire has made it there yet, but definitely watching the maps.

Yeesh.  I know there are/were a couple wildfires in WA, but that's bad considering you're a few hours from the thick of it.  Portland, Vancouver BC and Seattle currently top the list for the world's most polluted air

Ha.  Yesterday I said AQI was getting close to 400 . . . sitting at 470 now with a PM2.5 high score of 529 in the past 24 hrs

I'm east of Vancouver BC and visibility is crap... and people are driving without headlights on...

But yeah, this smoke is nasty. I was outside for a couple hours cleaning up the yard and I feel like shite now.

Pretty sure the smoke is a little thicker today.  The smoke was blown out over the coast but then pushed back over the states. It looks to have reached Montana now.
