It's been about 5-6yrs now since I sold my last '85 GTS and I've kept my eyes open for a clean one ever since.

This weekend I buzzed up to Illinois to bring back a very well kept car and after some mechanical dramatics got it home last night.





Next steps will be to see about wedging a vvti 1uz in there, but if it's anything like my 2jz swap it'll be a couple of years, haha!

Thanks 2tone.  I'm going to be following your footsteps shortly with the 1uz project so if you would please hurry up and get it done so I can just skim the cliff-notes, haha!

I hope twotone gets his project completed before winter sets in. I am ready to put a mask on my celica, keep it 6ft away from his and come take a look at his accomplishment. Anytime now?

Wow that is pretty!!!   :clapping:

Love the GTS decal on the side... I had that on my original 84 GTS back in the day... along with the "hockey" stripes that went along with it.

I was originally torn on it - more of a purist myself.

Hey Billy, could you snap a high quality close-up photo of that GTS logo and send it to me? I'd like to reproduce the decal in "GT" and "GTS" variants. :-)

Tough because it's on a curved surface and there's some barrel distortion, but you can likely stretch this around to get it square.
