break master cylinder
« on: May 21, 2021, 04:40:21 pm »
Hello,
I've got a leak from the master cylinder and looking to replace this on my Celica GTS Convertible.
Anyone who might be able to give me the original Toyota number for this or tell me if and to what other Toyota models this was fitted.
As the Celica Convertible wasn't sold here its hard to find parts, unless you know if this was fitted on other Toyota Models.
Am I right that the 2,4 engine on the 84-85 GTS model is the same as that of the HiAce bus?

many thanks

Toyota parts lookup, and yes they have the Celica: https://parts.toyota.com/

Master cylinder is 47201-14470, but it's NLA. It also looks like it's unique to the Celica. You're going to have to either buy parts and rebuild the old one, or buy an aftermarket new or reman one. I'd recommend rockauto.com, but I don't know if they do international shipping.

Wikipedia says the engine is not the same as the HiAce, but it also says the only 2.4L HiAce engine in that era was a diesel. Later HiAces got the 2.4L 2RZ motor, but that's different from the 22RE in your Celica.
