door handles for different years?

so i am working on the drivers door to get it to lock again. both doors come from a celi supra and im wondering if they aren't compatible with the celi handles. i have 83 doors on an 85 chassis and they pop out rather than up. ive looked around and only ever see the ones that pop up like a normal door handle. it may just be the door handle actuating rods possibly being bent is my issue but just thought to ask.

The 82 and 83 had the flip out handles, 84 and 85 had flip up. I imagine the internal mechanism is different between the two.
