New fuel pump hard starting 83 22re

I had a new fuel pump installed on my 83 GTS 22re and now the engine has a hard time starting. Before it would crank a couple of times and start now it cranks for about 5 seconds or more before starting. Any ideas on why this would happen and what a possible fix would be. I had to have an aftermarket pump installed from Napa as there weren't any OEM pumps available.

Did you happen to change the fuel filter as well? if not, this might help, or could be a leak somewhere in the system causing the line to not stay purged?

My Celica is back up and running again. The problem with the hard starting was two fold. One was a bad replacement fuel pump the other was a bad ground. The fuel pump was replaced, the ground was cleaned and the car runs like it was new. What a difference in performance. I can feel all those 106 horses now. Hope this helps others who may be having similar problems.
