Whiteline AE86 Swaybar End Links Option
« on: Apr 06, 2022, 04:58:42 pm »
As we know, the AE86 front swaybar by Whiteline fits the Celica chassis/mounts and allows a ton more clearance in front of the oil pan for things like 1UZ swaps and the only issue is included end-links are high enough that with deep compression the bar can contact the chassis.  Well, this might not absolutely solve it but the rear end-links for a mid-size crossover ended up being about an inch shorter overall height than the included Whiteline end links, weigh half as much, and should reduce deflection by their relatively simpler design.  Oh, and they are like $5 each!

Rear Swaybar End Link Compatibility:
CHEVROLET   EQUINOX   2005-2006
PONTIAC   TORRENT   2006
SATURN   VUE   2002-2007

Cheers,

You can also trim ~40% off the upper isolator to drop the end-link height another 1/3" when fully compressed.

I won't have the suspension disassembled enough to test full travel for a bit yet but should have the 1UZ/trans dropped in over the next couple weeks to at least check with some compression.

For now though, it looks really promising and I'm glad to simplify/lighten the whole thing a bit.

Good to know!

Looks like I'd better start hustling again on my swap, and update the thread. I've worked out my wiring gremlins to be in the cam/crank angle sensor area, so hopefully new sensors and wires solve it!
