Amp suggestions?

Finally getting around to getting a sound system in the Celi, and was curious how powerful the stock equalizer head unit can push speakers. i have some cheap 2.75 speakers in the front with some nicer 5.25 Skar audio speakers in the rear, with an RMS of 45w, and peak of 150. My dad has a bazooka he will be giving me too just to bump it a bit more, which ill stash behind rear sears since my cargo roll covers it nicely. Will i need to install some sort of amplifier to push them or with the OEM headunit suffice? no need for window breaking sound (mostly since windshields got nasty chips)

I'd be surprised if the stock deck even does more than 5 watts per channel with gobs of distortion.

I don't think you'd need an outboard amplifier, but I'd suggest getting a newer headunit which will likely do 20wrms per channel, especially for the Skar speakers. It's generally not power that kills speakers, it is distortion and clipping.

Sadly that oem unit was a bust. either it isnt wired in correctly, or the headunit is dead. it gets power, but flickers between am/fm, and has zero audio output to the speakers. was excited to play my parents old cassettes too, dang. i think im gonna save up for a vintage kenwood doubledin unit

stereo is hooked in. went ahead and eliminated that tiny amp under where the oem unit was since it was unnecessery, and helped delete wires. sounds really good for just a cheap $70 pioneer single din unit. pretty sure thats the last mod to my interior besides maybe 6th gen belts and a multi lens rear mirror. very happy with how far the little things come since i bought it last year
