Joined specifically because I couldn't get a definitive answer anyone on this question.

If I'm putting the 85 GTS rear subframe into an 84 GTS so I can use an F-code axle, will I also need to bring along all the brakes suspension from the 85 or can I reuse everything from my 84?
I've heard 85 have bigger rear brakes which I wouldn't mind having if I didn't have a choice about this and I don't know if I'd need backing plates and what not, possibly the control arms too.

Things should interchange (brakes etc) other than the subframe itself being different to fit the F-code diff.

However, removing the control arms from the subframe can be a real exercise in patience, it's far easier to get a complete subframe.

Then I’ll pull the whole thing.
Wrench in the works, what is the easiest way to ID the 7.5? I’m here looking at the thing and the door tags says it’s a sept. 84 car. Would this be an 85 model year car and can I confirm it with the diff?

Yeah, the firewall plate is the easiest place unless you want to open it.

That probably is a 1985 model year but you'd have to check the VIN to make sure.

Just to confirm - this is a manual '85, right? The autos got the T code axle.

You will also need the driveshaft, the F and T code diffs are different lengths.

You should also be able confirm the year by the title.

The most distinctive difference on the diff itself is on top of the housing. F code has 4 mounting holes, T code has 3.
