headlight switch idea

I am tired of my headlights not working and I dont want to buy the relay. I am thinking of puting the motor to a three way switch to supply power to raise it then supply power to lower it, will this idea work?

Might i ask how the headlights are not functioning? do they not pop up and go down, or do they simply fail to illuminate?

That should work I would think, you could junkyard a rear window switch for a 4 runner and you could stick it in one of the blank holes on the car interior. You could try taking the relay apart and see if it just needs the contacts cleaned.
