1UZ swap parts wanted
« on: Nov 04, 2022, 09:48:33 pm »
Unsure if it's appropriate to ask here, but I Picked up a nice 1uz for cheap recently, but it needs a starter and I need a 1uz auto tranny bellhousing. Thanks in advance.

Are you intending to use the a40 autobox behind the 1uz?

Sounds like he's going with the XAT Racing adapter, if he needs a 1uz auto bh. Starter can be either rebuilt with new contacts and solenoid plunger, or RockAuto may be a good place for a high-quality remanufactued unit.
Celica the '84 Two-tone RA64 - Phase 2 In Progress! (159k); 1UZ-FE V8 Swap, W58 5-speed swap, Koni x Swift x T3 suspension, 6G Celica seat belts, TRD 2-way LSD, Corolla tape deck
Mia the '91 Miata - Revived Twice! (264k); BP-5A 1.8L swap, an NB in NA clothes
Lude the '95 Prelude Si - The Tweaker Queen (237k)
Lilith the '94 Legend GS - Blown HG (152k)

i more recommend an oem unit tbh. when buying my car, my rockauto starter CONSTANTLY gave issues, to where id have to shove the car around while in gear to rotate it enough to catch and turn the motor. ripped a starter out of a 1982 celica and bolted it up, never once had another issue. i much prefer oem to remanned stuff.

Funny, this is the exact issue I'm having with the starter motor I rebuilt now. :heh: New OEM units are ~$200 for the 1UZ.

I went with a remanufactured Denso unit which I believe was the OE at the time.

I have also sourced a bellhousing off of ebay and now have no use for this thread, thank you for your replies all
