I'm running the stock NGK plugs...  The only real help I can offer is that if you want performance, don't go with platinums.  (or so I read)  Great for long-life, not so good for performance.  I also hear that upgrading your ignition coil will really help a modded(or even stock I've heard) celica take off a little better than the OEM one.

Plugs:I like NGKs for plugs.

Wire: I'm running Autolights right now, but plan on up-grading to  Magnecor soon, but I having trouble locating them around here.  $43.33 for there 8mm or $71.08 for there 7.5 race wires.  both prices are very reasonable.

Coil: Jacobs

Thats my .02

i got the bosch +4 plugs with bosch wires a 8207 msd blaster coil and the 8214 ballist resistyor the differance is like night and day compared to the old ignition coil see after 20 years a coil will start to break down and not respond very well or do like its supposed to do 70% of the people on the road should replace there igniton coil if only due to the fact of the coils age
ok black ops your ip is removed

use the toy denso u groove plugs
or ngk's
those are both good plugs
platinums worked fine in my motor
all them multiple prong plugs are a gimmick
they only make ONE spark
they can't possibly work better...
that's physics
current follows the path of least resistance...

i tried split fires after a guy with a celica at the store told me he got better mileage or power
made no difference in my 22re...
cost way more tho
didn't they go out of business???
wut a scam

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone on the multigroove spark plugs. They don't work. has anyone here ever heard of indexing there plugs. This is where you use shims to set your plug so that the open end of the electrode is facing the exhaust valve. Not going in two or even four directions for that matter. It's these small things that really help, not buying the $50.00 box of plugs. As far as wires I run stock. They come on the loom already, fit correctly, and are sealed at the boots with silicone. I sold aftermarket parts for years and the factory wires were the best I've seen yet.

apparently they last forever?
i'm just not comfortable leaving plugs in for 100K
but apparently that works fine too...
unreal :o

but a bosch dist. cap with alum. contacts ate my toy center wire due to alum. oxidation
it's trying to eat my fuel rail too

Who said anything about them lasting forever? I change them with the cap, rotor and plugs about every two years. Just look at a set of bec or borg warner or even ngk wires and compare them to a new factory set. there is no contest. The other thing is that some of these wire sets are about $40.00-$45.00  the same as the dealers retail price.   :o

i did
i've seen peeps post that they've NEVER changed their wires OR plugs
with over 100K miles
i didn't know that wuz possible
surely some of them expensive racing type wires are as good as toy's?
jeez
i know i never got poor performance no matter how long i used mine
but i haven't tried 100K ...
and probly won't
at least with the plugs

I'm not talking about running high mileage on ignition parts. Thats just being plain cheap. I change it all about every 15,000 miles, it's not that expensive. I'm just saying that for the money, the factory wires are better than a stock equivalent.

Changing your plugs, caps and rotor so soon probably wont be of any advantage unless you have an all out race motor. Those parts should last atleast a year. However, I cant call you crazy, because that just shows how much love you have for your baby.
