I find it oddly suspicious that 4498 (their claimed total) - 4248 (widely assumed 1985 total) = 250, 50 more then the number that's usually thrown around for 1984 models. I supposed if one of us was really ambitious, we could call up ASC and ask if they know what the figures are...

it's the toyota date on the VIN plate, i stand corrected on the number of verts.  wiki sucks!   now my SN is crap :wall:.  that was a damn good article and sweet celi.

As was said earlier, Wiki is garbage in, garbage out. It is written by the people, for the people. I'm not 100% sure that article is correct either. They obviously didn't know - or research enough to know about the '84s, and I saw a couple of other minor discrepancies.

BTW - if we can positively confirm the amount of '85 'verts, you can always ask Steven to change your SN.

I found this to be interesting on page 3.

What the Celica does in the long run is provide a very high level of handling that will both instill

Hmm, come to think of it, GT-S and automatic, other than the convertible...

Yep, I think. It was carb'd, the interior was black and shot to hell, and it'd been spray bombed. I didn't pay it a lot of attention at the time.

EFI didn't come out until '83, so that would be correct. Very interesting. Now I wonder how many '82 GT (w/ Sport Option) there were?



As for the 4 or 5, all of the other '85 verts are a 5, and both of the other '84s are a 4.
How about the rest of you with non-vert '84s or '85s, GT-S, GT, or ST, just for S&G.
