85 Celica Gt-s
« on: Sep 11, 2003, 07:09:09 pm »
Here's the LINK http://photos.yahoo.com/dynamic73

I bought this car in Dec. 2002 with 56,000 miles on it. I replace the rear hatch with a new one and the filler piece under the tailights. I also replaced all the mldg's and got the car repainted with Sherwin-Williams Ultra 7000 Black clear coat-base coat. This interior is like new. I added an Alpine stereo with Audiobaun 6.5" componate speaker all the way around. And I got a Q Logic Sub box in the rear with a Rockford Fosgate HE2 12" sub. I'm also using the audiobaun A6600E 6 channel amp with 6 x 150 watts. Engine is stock. But I'm going to be working on that next. Took me 8 months to get it looking this nice so far. I'm still debating on what I want to do to the engine.

Those are the stock Toyota louvers. They only had one kind for the GT-S, GT, and Supra.

Yea the louvers came from Toyota. I use to work as a full line mechanic from 82-85 at a local Toyota dealer. I use to install these at the dealer. They were a dealer option. They were made by a company name Shadow. They will fit all 3rd gen. Celica's and Supra's.

Dont they have a sticker on the 2nd slat up that says "Toyota Shadow" or something along those lines? When i pulled mine off a supra the sticker had been weathered off.

Yes they do. Mine was faded. So when I repaint the louvers. I sanded it off. My other  85 Celica GT still has the faded emblem that says "Toyota".

I am still looking for a rear louver for my '83 gt-s but have not been successfull. Plus it does not help that I am in Germany till late Nov and that does not help one bit. But that means that when I get back the couple jy's I go to should have new stuff..

I believe I've seen the rear and side louvers for sale on a website before, but I doubt they were as good a quality as the Toyota louvers.

I am not too impressed with the look of the side ones, but I really like the rear one. If I found both side and rear for a decent price of course I would get them though..
