To Race Or Not To Race!?
« on: Sep 13, 2003, 09:13:00 am »
This is something that happens to me ofthen,i live in sunnyvale california, here in cali theres all kinds of people and their cars, some times there are guys with corvetts, mustangs, new 350z and they want to race anybody even my little celi,i love my car but im not going to play fool and think i can even be close to this guys, racing civics and other imports it ok but if some guy in a viper its triyng to race me,forget it im not going to feed some loosers ego by racing my celi, before having my black 85 gt coupe i never owned or had an import for me there was nothing like old muscle cars,my other car used to be my 68 mustang 428 supercharged with 800hp at the rw,i spent every penny in this car and only drove the thing on the weekends or special days(daily driver was an ford escort) i never really liked racing on the streets but i did some times, one day i was just driving home afther going to sears point to the drag races and some guy in a brand new ss camaro was traying to race me and i dont really bother when i know i can smoke some other car,but this day i did, to make this story shorter i will tell you that we ended up going 160 plus with a cop on our tails the guy in the camaro lost control hit my stang and made me lost control and crashed it,my pride and joy was destroyed  ,i whent to jail for 2 weeks cause the judge was so mad at me and gave me 3 years mandatory suspended license for all kinds of things, before this i had a clean spot free record.this happend 3 years and 9 months ago,and the celi its my first car afther what happend.

I agree with you. When I was home I used to street race alot. I dont know if it is maturity or what, but now I look back at it and wonder what it was all about.  I have been involved in races and because I was so far ahead I would just pull off and go about my business, then you would hear the news that the person you were racing had crashed. I lost 3 class mates in one accident. I am not going to pretend I wouldnt do it again, but while the testosterone is not pumping I look on it as senseless. Take it to the track. (If there is a good secluded road, I dont see anything wrong with that.)

I dont do any kind of "official" street racing, i usually just race up to the speed limit and if they do a loser flyby and think they are great, so much the better for them.. cept every now and then you will get the losers who wont be beat. one day i was coming out of my school, at a stop light with 2 lanes and a riced civic pulls up next to me. so he sits there revving and i just think, hes gonna lose. sure enough, coming out of first gear into second i quickly pull ahead, put it in third and pull ahead even more... when i reach the 55 mph speed limit, i go 5 over to 60 mph, put it in 4th, and all of a sudden the guy shoots ahead at about 90 mph. of course no way he could have done it NA since i had already beat him, he must have used NOS.... this guy just wasted a shot of NOS on a stoplight street drag.. what a retard. next thing i know im halfway down the hill (this was all downhill) and i see the guy on the shoulder, with smoke and steam pouring out of his engine bay... he blew his motor on a stoplight street drag! damn i love retards...

One night I was with a couple friends, at a local hang out spot. We decided to leave so I got in my car, and my friends in theirs when this guy starts reving behind me, so I knew what that meant.  It was about 11 so I knew the streets would be fairly empty (no excuse) so I let her rip. The guy was in a T-bird, I was in the Celica, and my friend in her Accord. As we got going, it was apparent this was a race to be determined by the best driver, so after getting a block or so infront of the others I took a right and went by my family to see what they were up to. Another friend was there and was showing us what all he did to his CRX, so I decided to go for a test drive. We passed by another spot and noticed along the way that someone had hit a lamp post and broke it completely in two and it was starting an electrical fire, so we rushed to make a 911 call. After that, we took a short cut back home, and along the way hiding in the dark from the police was the same T-bird. I couldnt believe that no one got hurt.  The guy was not accustomed to RWD and power slid sideways into the lamp post.  The car was less than a year old

Bad part is I have atleast 4 more of these stories

Sometimes you just have to put those honda fags in their place... They dont even drive real sports cars... they are freakin eco cars with NOS and turbos

Actually the Accord is faster than the Celica. As I said before, I am a car lover,  so dont care if someone drives a Kia or a Ferrari.  We have rice boys in the Toyota camp too.  Actually was reading the Celica forum on Automotive forums and someone wanted to change an 86 Celica into an AE86.  Now I shouldnt judge people but that just p--- me off

Back when i'd go to the club4ag forums people would get really dumb and get some really stupid ideas. I remember one time this guy wanted to convert his AE86 into AWD with his AWD 3000GT parts car he had. he wanted to swap the engine and everything... LOL

I dont even reallyt like AE*6's anymore.. Most of the people who own them arent even the same kind of people as us... they are all weird.. i dont know... Thats why i'm selling my AE86 now..

ANYWAYS... umm yeah..

The thing is, the accord isnt a eco car like the civic and crx... Not as many people have the money to get a v6 accord and modify it like they modify their civics.

I'm no saying every honda is bad... i mean the S2000 is RWD with a 240 HP 4 cylinder engine. Honda does make some really nice and fast engines... but i just really dislike the idiot drivers who seem to think civics are sports cars. THEY ARENT!!

This was in the Caribbean.  Not only the currency changes :)  On the 1/4 I would get 1.5 car lengths. Where as with the Nissan 2.0 I gave that 2 car lengths. However the best part about drag racing is, most of the times the better driver wins. I used to tell people I dont care if I am on a bicycle, I will race anyone. It wasnt uncommon to see me racing by bike, foot, car even industrial equipment (not on the road). I race for fun not to win. Winning is just a benefit.

Well what happened to 85blackGT. Is unfortunally a too common occurance. Most of the idiots that pull up beside you and gun their engines. To temp you into racing them are idiots with no-sense. That makes for a bad combination. And they can not only wreck their car. But wreck your car also. Even if they can drive. They might be driving a car that is unsafe. And they might have been too quick to put it on the street and try and see what it will do. If something breaks. Then they will probly wreck and could take you out too. I seen a race one day. It was one of my friends going up against another car. And it was too long ago. So I don't remember what each was driving. But we all were along side of the road. And both car lauched. And at about 100ft. The other car my friend was racing. Broke a rear end  and it locked up. Causing the car to slide sideways. It didn't hit my friends car that was racing him. But it hit another car that was on the side of the road watching the race. Lucky no one was hurt. But I have seent the same thing happen and the car went sideways and killed a girl watching the race.

I get people trying to race me almost every day. My car is an automatic. So I don't stand a chance. Try to race even a Yugo. But I just smile and wave as they take off. Knowing my car will still be running. Long after their's is rusting away in some junkyard.
