Hks Twin Turbo Kit
« on: Sep 14, 2003, 04:28:45 am »
I was searching through celicasupra.com's image files and i found a 6 page artical from 1986 about some guy who installed a USDM spec HKS Twin Turbo kit on his MKII supra. The kit was deisnged for a stock engine and came with EVERY part needed for the whole project. even a oil cooler and new intake manifold.

Since i'm going to be buying a MKII supra i was wondering if any has any information or knows anything about this HKS kit.

naturally... I wonder if ToySport could pull some strings for me. it gave a automatic MKII supra a 0-60 time in 6.97 seconds. AUTOMATIC!

I am sure you could get one made yourself
Probably use the 7MGTE and change the manifold and turbos

I like the 7MGTE and all... but i dont want to go through the hasle of a engine swap. I think it would be cooler to have the orignal engine with twin turbos!

Bolt on swap, except for ecu and you will have to do that anyway. Maybe we can work out something on a swap

then engine isnt cheap either though... But either will the twin turbo kit. I dont know... right now i'd rather do the twin turbo kit but if its way too hard to get then i'll just do a 7MGTE swap.

I've contacted Toysport and HKS about this kit. I guess if anyone will know anything about this kit it'll be them. If you want i'll post their replies if they are any good... or if they send me a reply at all (...ToySport...)

Remeber the 7M-G(T)E has head gasket issues
Plus you can make more power from the 5M-GE and if you find 85-86 there is a small difference in power over  the 7M-GE but in a lighter Car.   I personal like the 5/6M-GE over the 7M-G(T)E engine so thats why I say sit with the factory engine.
But I have heard that there is special type of head for the 7M-G(T)E that will cure the problem, I streed heard.

Good luck in finding that twin turbo kit it sound sweet.
 I want a turbo. :D
