thanks for the warm welcome!

the previous owner (my aunt).... could have taken care of it better

In the short time I've had it I've practically fallen in love with it.

That said, odds are stacked for it to fail annual state (VA) inspection come May.

Side mirrors 'drop,' some visible exterior rust, two sets of blemishes from bike racks that were mounted for years at a time, and weak front struts (the biggest problem).

So far I've only done the following:
new air filter (it needed it)
rewiring the connection between the battery and the starter and alternator
rigging the sunroof with wire

since ill be turning it into a project (hopefully), I figured this would be a good place to find existing knowledge

that and to talk with people who share my views on an awesome vehicle

What are the consequences for failing an inspection in VA?  Car impounded?

If thats the case, why not register the vehicle as off road only, since it will be a project car.

Whatever the case, there is usually someone always on even with this few members, your questions will most likly get answered the following day.

Best of luck to you :)

Well you could always do an *cough* under the table deal *cough* with the inspection. Ask around.

Edit:

Oh yea... Hi. Welcome to the board. I'm still a newb here too, but it's always good to have more people in here.
