I was just woundering if there was any laws against
louvers. I started to think about it when i remember
that here there is a law against dark window tint
on rear and side windows and i was woundering does that
affect louvers on the rear window or not?

It shouldnt.. as long as they are properly installed there isnt any vision blocking..

wierd.. here in kansas the only tint law is against the drivers and passengers side windows. the back window and any rear passenger windows can go as dark as possible. louvers are legal because camaro's and cars drive around with them all the time.

Yeah thats kind of what i was thinking but here a lot of people get pull over for dark tint, I know a couple people that have gotten a brand new car with factory tint on the rear window and to take it off you gotta change the window and they still get pull over, well anyways i was woundering if any of you guys know where i can get some louvers for my car i have a 1984 Celica Coupe or would i have to get them custom made for a coupe?

It has been a while, but there are(were) side louvers for the celica, very rare. They are the only things that could interfere with some traffic laws.

I've seen new aftermarket back louvers for sale in some catalogue. They might be the flimsy plastic kind tho.

If you get louvers you might as well try to get the original ones that came with the car.. if you hunt around you can probably find em for around 30 bucks.

Yea, I looked there but they want 250 for a set of aluminum ones.. and there is no way in hell id ever put plastic louvers on my car.

damn i thought all louvers aftermarket were made from plastic. a set of those would be perty nice

I've seen new aftermarket back louvers for sale in some catalogue.

Wait, Nukes25 already found the site I was thinking of, yea they have plastic and aluminum for coupe's and liftbacks. They also got the side louvers like Bridge had, but aren't probably of as good a quality.

I have a set of PERFECT side louvers and used mounts. They are ABS plastic but the side louvers for 3rd gens never came in aluminium. i also had the Shadow stock louver but thats still with the car when i sold it.

I have no need for my side louvers anymore... as i plan on buying a 3rd gen coupe after i'm "done" with my AE86 project.

There isnt any traffic laws agenst louvers. i had rear and side louvers for two+ years... not a word was mentioned about my louvers causing a problem.

here is a pic of my old celica with both louvers installed. more pics upon request.
