Killer 22R-TE Engine
This is my recipe for a killer turbocharged 22R-TE engine. This design does not consider the use of a supercharger or money!
There are several major items that have to be considered when building a forced induction engine as compared to a naturally aspirated engine. One major difference is that you do NOT want to overbore the block more than 0.040 inches, 0.020 would be safer. Another item is the compression ratio. On a forced induction engine you run a lower compression ratio, that way you can run more boost with more timing (A very good thing). A metal head gasket is highly recommended to deal with the higher pressure a turbo engine creates. Forged pistons are another highly recommended item.
These are just a couple of the issues the consider with a turbo setup.
